Year-round attractions
Seaside towns in winter and autumn are practically empty. This creates the feeling that when you walk along the beach, you are in an American movie set where it’s only you and no one else. This experience stays in memory for a long time. After all, there is nothing more beautiful than the sound of waves at sunset on an empty beach. Besides this magical emptiness, there are several additional attractions available in the town itself.
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
The historic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Stegna is a gem of sacred architecture. It impresses with its beauty and deep spiritual meaning. Located in a picturesque setting, it invites reflection and contemplation. Its interior hides rich artistic details and an atmosphere of peace, creating an ideal place for prayer and reflection.
The church was built between 1681 and 1683 on the foundations of an older Gothic temple. This fact makes it one of the significant attractions in the region, frequently visited by tourists. The church features unique paintings suspended from the ceiling and historic organs. Every year, the International Organ Festival also takes place here.
Bicycle paths
Bicycle paths in Stegna and the surrounding area offer unparalleled opportunities for active leisure throughout the year. Thanks to excellent infrastructure, cyclists can use routes of varying difficulty levels, suited to different skills and preferences.
The most popular is undoubtedly Eurovelo No. 10. It is part of an international route totaling nearly 9,000 km running around the Baltic Sea through 9 countries. In Poland, cyclists can admire views of beaches, forests, and historic towns. The route combines different types of surfaces and is well marked.
If you are coming to the seaside and plan active cycling holidays, we invite you to Bursztynowe Resort. Our facility is located right on the Eurovelo No. 10 route. We also offer bike rental services.
All routes are available in winter, but it is important to remember safety issues before the trip. Under appropriate conditions, rides on bicycle paths can be an exceptional way to discover the charm of the winter coastal landscape.
Narrow-gauge railway in Stegna
The Żuławy Narrow-Gauge Railway, part of the picturesque Żuławy Wiślane region, offers a unique combination of historic transportation with tourist attractions. Founded in 1891 for sugar transport needs, it quickly expanded into a 55.5 km network, adapting to mechanical traction.
